I left this morning on the bus at eight o’clock and went to Newport News. I went up to the office (District) of the Company for which I work and stayed until lunch. Went out then and had lunch with the manager and went out afterwards to see if I could find any used tires, but there seemed to be nothing available. I fooled around town this afternoon and had supper with Mrs. Susie Nelson and her son Wesley. Left Newport News on the train about eight o’clock and reached home about eleven- hot and tired.

We had a small Sunday School this morning less than one hundred fifty. Our offering was small too but we have had so many specials this month and the people have been asked for so much that I didn’t press the collection at all. Carole Anne and I went to Mama’s for dinner. Naomi and Elkanah were here.
This afternoon Leone and I went to Church.
